Wot’s appening right now?
Mr. Yeh from the US has
just spotted two tigers at the famous Ranthambhor Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan,
experienced the Rambagh Palace in the Pink
City of Jaipur where
everyone from Queen Elizabeth and Jackie Kennedy Onassis have stayed, and said
that “all has exceeded his expectations so far” including the super luxurious
UDAI VILAS IN UDAIPUR. Right now he is setting off on a horse safari
on the Kumbalgarh trail and will end up by joining the revellery at the
Nagaur Desert Fair. More on the 03rd of Feb

In the meantime: Julie
finished the Horse trek in Oz on the trail of The Man from Snowy River..and had
a fab time. http://www.horsebackholidays.com/australia.html

Viv finished her polo
clinic in Argentina. http://www.poloholidays.com/argentina.html
and as for IJ THE - MAN himself... after completing an
outdoor weekend on the Ganges for Team ABN AMRO and building a new longhouse -
see pic below,
he made the transition from 2003 into
2004 with an overland jeep and with horses for visitors from France and Hungary
who chose India for a holiday adventure from XMAS Eve.
The adventure began with dining at night on the
finest foods of Rajputana while overlooking Udaipur’s Pinchola Lake, which
features the Lake Palace Island (made famous in James Bond’s “Octopussy”) and
other majestic Palaces on its shores
The Horse safari on the majestic Marwari
with its inward pointed ears provided real adventure included chasing the horned
blue bull or Nilgai, as large as a horse itself, wild hare and Goshawk. The
Water Buffalo ever suspicious would often give move curiously forward toward us
and in one village some territorial Marwari magnificent in their bearing,
provided us all some adrenaline pumping excitement for a few
minutes!
In the
meantime from London, Emily wrote of her October visit:
“Following my fabulous October holiday
in India I feel it would be impossible to exaggerate the virtues of IJ’s
Horseback & Polo Holidays and TigerPaw Adventures. All travel arrangements
were impeccably organized with prompt an efficient adaptation to any problems
you might pose (and I posed several!)
At Jaipur Polo club I was
instantly made to feel like a friend and honoured guest, and was never treated
as a tourist. The late afternoon polo matches were of an unbelievably high
standard, the ponies were excellent as were the facilities. SEE FOR
YOURSELF! http://www.poloholidays.com/india.html

The camp at Rishikesh must surely be
everyone’s idea of paradise. Your own private beach where food of unparalleled
standard was regularly served, swimming in the glacier water of the Upper Ganges
and the brilliant hospitality of I.J Singh. The white water rafting was
excellent, the guide an expert, with the opportunity to body rafts down the
smaller rapids and cliff jump should you wish to (I would urge you to try it!)
“I would
thoroughly recommend IJ’s & TigerPaw to anyone considering a polo holiday in
India, or indeed any holiday there. Anything further removed from the
package-type Goa holidays many of my peers have experienced, and to which I am
utterly adverse, would be hard to imagine. You fly back feeling as if you have
seen at least part of the real India, with excellent value polo experience, and
already planning your next trip”!

Also
from the UK, Asterid wrote another email to say: “ We continue to miss
India deeply and love to trawl through the photos to revive lovely
memories. We have still not had time to complete the write-up on our trip
but certainly mean to do so. It was a really good itinerary and one, which
we would recommend highly. Although an extra 24 hours in Kochi would have been a
bonus”. http://www.tigerpawadventures.com/soft_2.html
From the UK again after a remote Tribal Journey, Jean Willie
wrote:
“This was a most unusual tour. We
covered many miles, often on mountain roads in very comfortable vehicles with
competent drivers and knowledgeable guides. The tribes we encountered, and their
lifestyles were fascinating and I very much hope I have recorded much of what I
saw on slides”.

I hope that somewhere, sometime in the not too distant future, our paths
shall cross in the pursuit of a safe yet exhilarating discovery
journey! Inder-Jit
