Rated polo enthusiasts (-2 onwards) are offered the unique opportunity to play in championship polo tournaments from 0 to 20 goal level depending upon the IPA (Indian Polo Association) tournament schedules and the visiting polo players' travel plans.

The Indian Polo Association conducts scheduled tournaments in the major cities such as Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay and Jaipur. The tournament season is usually structured as such:

    Delhi - October, November, February
    Calcutta - December
    Jaipur - January
    Mumbai - March

During the polo season (October-March), teams vie in some of the most prestigious and tradition-bound tournaments in the world. Some of the famous cups steeped in polo 's history going back over a hundred years are listed below.

Miscellania

Named after the Raja of Kolanka, the Kolanka Cup is the challenge trophy for the Bangalore Limited Handicap tournaments. The cup is on record as the largest polo trophy in the world, standing six feet tall and holding four and a half gallons of champagne!

Each tournament is spread over a one-week period and is structured on a knock out basis. Participation in these low, medium and high goal tournaments quickly immerses enthusiasts into the adrenalin-laced action that competitive polo provides.

Specifically, enthusiasts have the possibility to participate in low goal "out of the hat" club tournaments, for a week long knock out tournament including stick and ball, warm up rides, team strategy planning sessions, polo ponies for the tournaments, transportation of horses to the polo ground, grooms, board and lodging in the private guest house of the polo team owner. A local chauffeur-driven vehicle is provided (ordinary tourist cab, for an eight hour day, luxury cars and extra mileage on payment).

Polo players with reasonable polo ability have the opportunity to participate in traditional IPA tournaments of 6 goals, 8 goals, 10 goals, 12 goals, 14 goals, or Open Tournaments (16-20 goal) with the same facilities as above.

There is also a rare opportunity, available only through IJ's, for highly competitive polo players to participate in a championship polo tournament, comprising of teams featuring leading professional and amateur polo players from both India and other parts of the world. Overall team handicap must aggregate the handicap level of the desired tournament. These tournaments as already mentioned, are played for some of the oldest polo trophies in the world.

For a visiting polo team comprising of 4 players wishing to participate, and qualifying handicap-wise in the above mentioned tournaments up to the 10 goal level, IJ's offers team mounting, grooms, transportation of horses to the polo ground, board and lodging and local chauffeur driven vehicle (ordinary tourist cab, for an eight hour day, luxury cars and extra mileage on payment).

It is also possible for an individual to opt for a season package that will include a range of tournaments from 6 to 14 goals over a four to six week period. Season package is available upon Request.
