The Mystery Creek Polo Club

Itinerary (sample only)

There will always be a stick and ball available to you daily with the exception of Mondays, a day of rest for the staff and ponies. There is organized polo for those that want it 3 days a week (and more is available if required), including a "Mini Tournament".

By organized polo we mean actual matches with 4 and 5 goalers. If more are required, it can be arranged although an extra charge would be applied. Chukkas can be played throughout the day, although morning is preferable since the matches are played in the afternoon.

If you are here for 10 days you could expect 5 days of "match" polo. Players will not be disappointed with the level of polo being played, or the amount of time they spend in the saddle.

Accommodation and Transportation:
There is a Motel located in the local town of Cambridge, only ten minutes away from Mystery Creek. Included in your accommodation is a continental self-serve breakfast and a buffet style evening meal or BBQ at Mystery Creek Polo Club. This does not include lunch, laundry, or bar facilities.
(Note: average cost for a luncheon varies; a pie would be about $1.50 but a good sit down lunch around $15.00 - $20.00. There are plenty of nice cafes around the area.)

For transportation to and from the airport, there are two self-drive mini buses, which seat 10 each. These are also available for use during your stay.

Other adventures:
Depending on what the majority of the group would like to do, we can have one day as a "do something completely different day" and take you to Lake Taupo for a day of trout fishing, or a cruise around Auckland Harbour. If you have time you could also go to Hawkes Bay and do the Wine Trail... a lot of fun but quite hard on the liver!

Weather
October is not a suitable time to come and the weather can be a little unreliable in November and December in terms of rain. As for the driest time - this is always a tough one - the chances are it will be fine any time from January through to the end of March.

The weather is the only thing we have no control over but it has never put a damper on proceedings before. The bar is "Open all Hours" and you don't need fine weather to enjoy good company!
