Learning polo in Scotland is an excellent summer choice. Here ypu can learn in a most pleasant location and stay as guests of an charming local family. Nice horses, and argentine trainer and David Drummond Moray himself will help you learn the rudiments of the game.
The Drummond Moray family live in Perthshire which is in the heart of Scotland, very accessable, just one hour away from Edinburgh and Glasgow with some of the most breathtakingly beautiful countryside to be found anywhere in the UK. As a reference the estate is very close to Gleneagles where the 2005 G8 conference is being held
The family lives in a large victorian house and have a small polo setup at their farm nearby. They offer equestrian holidays with the emphasis on polo. Visitors are guests of the family living in house and should be prepared to muck in and participate in everything that they are involved in socially. They have two children, a boy aged 12 and a daughter 10.
The family are all acomplished horsemen and polo players. David have been playing for 35 years and has played in 9 different countries all over the world. His wife and he have trained and played young horses over several years and they currently offer facilities for beginners and young players particulary Pony Club children.
These facilities amount to two small polo grounds, several playing ponies and young ponies in training and a young Argentinian groom/player to assist. The riding out is quite exceptional, miles and miles of open countryside with views that picture postcards could not compete with and with no traffic in sight.
Historically the Drummond Moray family has lived and owned land in this part of Scotland for nearly one thousand years."
