The 21st ANNUAL VIRGINIA POLO CLINIC
Located at Virginia Polo Center, Charlottesville, Virginia
MAY 26-31: Intermediate Level, Rate: $1600.00
JUNE 2-4: Novice Level 3-day, Rate- $975.00
JUNE 5-7: Intermediate 3-day, Rate-$975.00

JUNE 16-21: Junior week (14yr- 21yr) Rate $1350.00
ALSO... Rege will be giving a clinic at the Santa Barbara Polo Club on July 31 to Aug. 2.

WHAT: Rege Ludwig, world renowned polo instructor, will be conducting his 21st Annual Virginia Polo Clinic at the beautiful University of Virginia Polo facilities located in Charlottesville. The clinics will be 6 or 3 days in duration. The data over the years has shown that 35% of the students attending these clinics have become active polo playing member of the USPA. The clinic enrollment is limited to twelve students. There are clinics for beginning players and experienced polo players. The intermediate level clinics (indicated on the application) are for experienced polo players up to the 2-goal level and past students. For the beginning level clinics, the participants need to be adequate riders.
COST: The cost of the clinic is $1,600.00 for adults and $1,350.00 for juniors for the 6-day program. The 3-day session is $975.00. This includes horses, which will be completely equipped and Friday night dinner where you will be guests at the Virginia Polo Club to watch their tournament games.

TRAVEL: The Virginia Polo Center is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, Virginia. The area is home to the University of Virginia, Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello, and many other historic sites. The facilities are approximately 200 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. and 60 miles from Richmond, VA. Flight arrangements may be made directly into Charlottesville.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY
7:00-8:00am: INTRODUCE NEW MATERIAL/REVIEW OLD MATERIAL (classroom)
8:00-9:00am: RIDING FOR POLO (horseback, outdoor arena)
9:00-10:00am: MALLET USE AND DEVELOPING THE SWING (wooden sawhorse, indoor arena)
10:00-11:00am: FOOT POLO (indoor arena)/ HITTING CAGE (cage)
11:00-11:30am: LUNCH
11:30-12:30pm: DISCUSSION (classroom)
12:00-1:30pm: STICK AND BALL (horseback)
1:30-2:30pm: SCRIMMAGE (horseback)
Please bring with you mallets (at least 2), boots, helmet, britches or jeans, tennis shoes and a willingness to work hard and learn a great deal. Optional items are; spurs, whip and knee guards. A foot polo mallet is strongly recommended. Coffee, donuts, bagels, muffins, granola bars, juices, fruit and other snacks are available throughout the day.
